Are you considering therapy?
I offer long and short term psychotherapy and counselling in Central London and online.
About Me.
My training in integrative counselling and psychotherapy allows me to draw from a variety of approaches tailored to meet your unique needs; combining psychodynamic, humanistic, person centred, transpersonal and body therapy within a relational framework.
Therapy begins by establishing a trusting and safe environment where you can explore your history, past experiences, and relationships, and how they may be affecting you today.
Why therapy?
Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, it can feel daunting. Perhaps you have un named anxiety that you want to understand, perhaps you are struggling with life choices, current relationships, or need a place to process trauma, grief or the complexities of your past. Perhaps you don’t know why at all. Whatever your reasons, I would be glad to meet with you.
What to expect?
As an integrative therapist, I combine various approaches, including:
Relational: At the heart of my practice is the belief that we are shaped, hurt, and healed within relationships. Focusing on the 'person-to-person' relationship, a relational approach is rooted in the understanding that the most important aspect of any therapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client.
Psychodynamic: Emphasizing the importance of the unconscious mind and early experiences.
The Body: Exploring how our bodies store and express emotion and experience, including trauma.
Transpersonal: Addressing spirituality, regardless of religious affiliation. I have a particular interest in supporting clients who wish to integrate their understanding and experiences of faith and spirituality into their therapeutic journey, regardless of their background.
An initial consulation, lasting 50 minutes, would give you the space to explain what brings you to seek therapy; what your hopes or goals for therapy might be, and give you a chance to see if I feel like the right ‘fit’ for you. I would explain something more of how I work and you would have the chance to ask more about what that might look like.
We then decide whether to book in a set number of sessions - a minimum of 6 - or whether to start open ended therapy.
Clients experience:
‘Charlotte always makes me feel grounded and secure in my feelings and emotions. We talk about the past, the present, and anxieties of the future. I was quite apprehensive about starting therapy, but she made me feel at ease. She is a great listener and encourages you to reflect on how your body feels during your sessions. That reflective process has helped me when I have been struggling.’
Client
‘Sessions with Charlotte have been pivotal to my healing process. I instantly felt comfortable at our first session; she listens without judgement and provides a safe space to explore past trauma and unhelpful thinking patterns. Her approach of focussing on the whole body has been a useful tool as I have tackled anxieties, anger and grief. She is warm and kind: I trust her advice and I know that she champions my emotional and spiritual well-being.’
